——

You know who you are, what you do and why you do it. But an organization, campaign, book or blog doesn’t come to life until you reach the right people with a meaningful story. This is where I can help.

I invite you to sit down, tell me your tale  and let me craft or hone marketing content, digital copy or business documents that connect you with where you’re going and the impact you want to make when you get there. Or, if you’re a do-it-yourselfer, let me coach you through the writing process as you bring your own book, blog or cause to life.

I look forward to working with you!

About

about-imageRebecca is a seasoned, strategic writer, editor and writing coach with 20 years experience creating and editing content that tells a story, engages key audiences, educates, informs, inspires action and exceeds expectations. As both an in-house writer for companies like Nationwide Insurance and Ketchum Public Relations and as a freelance writer and editor, she has supported and driven successful campaigns of every shape and size. As a writing coach and editor, she has helped  both experienced and newbie authors and bloggers bring their projects to life.

My book was going nowhere. I’d sat on a single plot point for seven years and just could not get past it. My boss set me up for a coaching trial run with Rebecca, and I noticed a change immediately. By teaching me how to manage my time better and set realistic daily expectations, Rebecca actually got me past that plot point and gave me the tools I needed to stay on task despite daily fatigue and distractions. With her help, I remembered why I love writing and have a system in place that will take me to the conclusion of my first book and beyond.

–Kyle Jarrett, writer, executive assistant, Smile TV

Her memoir, Cancer Happens: Coming of Age with Cancer (Capital Books), received glowing reviews from publications across the country, including the LA Times and Cleveland Plain Dealer. In her  new blog,  Going North, she writes  about her experiences as a new American expatriate in Canada. She also blogs  about writing, conscious living, conscious parenting and personal growth in  Laugh at the Sky, Kid.

Current and former copywriting clients include Omegasonics, Bonneville Communications, American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, Michael and Raphaelle Tamura, The Lefko Group/Conscious Leadership Connection, Time Warner Cable, FedEx, Fireman’s Fund Heritage Program, Ketchum, Nationwide Insurance, and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.

Rebecca created sharp, focused, action-producing writing that has motivated clients to purchase products from us at a faster clip. She was able to research and produce product with minimal meetings. A superb marketing writer.

–Frank Pedeflous, president, Omegasonics

Rebecca’s diverse experience and understanding of market nuances and the creative process are a direct result of her semi-nomadic existence. As Tolkien would say, she wanders a bit, but is seldom lost. While she grew up in Dayton, OH, and graduated with honors from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, she has lived and worked all over the country, including in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, San Luis Obispo, CA, Hartford, CT, and Columbus, OH. Currently, Rebecca  makes Vancouver, BC, her home, along with her husband, Larry, her son and the koi in their backyard pond.
